We like to weigh one completed invitation: lined envelope, seal if used, stamp, map enclosure and all the accompanying pieces, plus any ribbon in the exact size being used to give you an accurate weight and cost for your wedding invitations.
After discerning the weight, you may wish to create your own unique postage stamps to match your invitations from the U S Postal Service website.
We recommend attempting to find coordinating stamps for your invitation and the response card envelope or the response postcard to be returned to you.
Most invitations weigh a little under two ounces. Heavy stock on invitations will weigh more. A pocketfold with various enclosures may weigh a little more as well.
IT IS ALWAYS a good idea to take one completed invitation to the post office and have them weigh it to insure the right postage for your invitations. Then, put the postage on the invitations. Judy Laughton Lilley, judy@lilleyprinting.com
